I called customer service to ask about my bill. The representative said "bye" and simply hang up the phone on me while I was still asking my question. I will call back when the offices open and I will complain to the highest level until this unprofessional representative is held accountable for being rude. Customer Service

IRS has the worst customer service, guy name Smith was so rude and would not even listen to my problem statement. I got so fed up and told that I am hanging up on you and he quoted God. He said something like “ God shall protect you” Seriously IRS, we are not asking for Free service, we pay taxes and we absolutely hold the right to ask a question. Please hire some professionals and provide them proper training. This person ruined my day, and absolutely lowered the respect for IRS. We shouldn’t be treated like we are in a communist country.

My parents never got their refund check. My mother doesn't know English so I was translating for her. Even though I told the rep. that my mom's english is not good, she kept insisiting on speaking to her because I was aswering the questions wrong and or with uncertainty? All she asked was for my mom's full name, birthday and address; which were all answered correctly in a swift manner. I have lived with my mom most of my life and have answered such questions for her countless times when it's asked in English, so I would hope that I'd answer such questions correctly. So I went ahead and let my mom speak since the rep. wouldn't let us continue because there was something apparently wrong with my answers. The rep. asked her the exact same questions and my mom gave the same answers I did, but the rep. proceeded this time =_= However, she asked to speak with me again instead since she finally realized my mom could barely answer the address question in English. I asked if their was a Viet rep. or translator but the rep. said she wanted to help us as much as she could herself and didn't even bother asking around. The rep. then asked for my father's SSN, and I answered while looking at my dad's SSN card in hand. When she repeated it to me, I knew she typed it in incorrectly. She told me his info. wasn't pulling up, and said to call back when I have his SSN card??? (Instead of asking me to repeat it to her to confirm we were on the same page) I repeated the exact number on the card to her again, and she just said, "Well see here, you need to give me the card." I told her that the card has been in my hand, and she kept ignoring me when I confronted her and asked her to repeat the numbers she had typed down to make sure she just didn't type it incorrectly. She refused to. She kept saying, "Sorry I can't help you." So I asked to be transferred to someone else; I got ignored. When I asked her for her name, she mumbled it really quickly. I told her I didn't catch her name and asked her to repeat it, and then she hurried to say, "I'm sorry, I'm going to have to disconnect the call now." =_= Is there anyway to file a direct complaint even when you couldnt get the rep.'s name?

Won't do any good to report this rude person. IRS employees are Federal and they have absolute job security.

They can be as rude as they want and get away with it. They know this, so they have no hesitation in being as big of an *** as they want.

IRS will not refund my 5,700 for my 2016 return

I contacted the IRS twice, my accountant sent a letter so there have been three contacts and I have gotten four different excuses. Excuse #1: Because my husband passed away, they can't auto deposit my refund in my bank account. Okay, still have the SAME bank account, had it for 41 years. They need to mail me a paper check. Should have it in 30 days. Excuse #2: 30 days after that call, I called to check again on my refund check, had not received it. Their response was they were having systems problems that delayed it. I should have the check within 30 more days. Excuse #3: 30 days after that call, I contacted my accountant, who is quite shocked at this whole string of excuses woven so far. Because I needed a mailing address to contact them, I again had to call them. They did not want to give me an address, I had to rather sternly reiterate "I need a mailing address so my accountant can contact you" three times. The service rep also told me I would hear from them by the end of July. Excuse #4: On July 31, 2017, I received a letter from them stating they need 45 more days to process my "request". It is very clear to me that the IRS makes up the rules as they go along just so they can harass people, this is how they get their entertainment. I'm sure they have an internal chat site where they can log all of this *** and laugh about it. I would specifically like to call out the fact they take a certain interest in widows and single them out and harass them like this. I have come to know this from talking to others with personal experience. Now if the tables were turned and I owed them money, do you think these excuses would work for me? Absolutely not!

I am a tax payer and have threatened by irs representatives for penalizing of the other irs department mis-located some of my paper works that i submitted! How can I responsible for their faults? There was another time that i already made payments for my tax and they took it out my bank already but said I haven't paid! Therefore they threatened me again for penalty if I don't pay for it now? Then later they found out and reimbursed my money? So they don't have them in the same system? One hand does and the other doesn't know? And again with a extremely rude attitude! I hope irs should change and re-evaluation

IRS Protects and support fraud

irs OWE ME SEVERAL MILLION DOLLARS BECAUSE THE INSURANCE COMPANY GAVE THEM FRAUDLENT 1099 INFORMATION. They initially said that the statue had toiled. once I proved that was wrong and there is no statue on fraud, the IRS and Tax Advocate (Ned), became abusive and are still fighting me. I am putting together a class action suit. I can be contacted at mattieamos6@***.com.If you are in the Western District of Louisiana, please expect no help. They represent the convicted felons(Insurance company), and have made every attempt to bar me my constitution to due process. They gave a man life for stealing a piece of candy but violates my constitutional right to confront my accurses, dispite the fact that I have statements from them and the OIG of their guilt

Rude "service"

I've called a handful of times these last few years about different matters. Each time was unpleasant. This last time a woman was so annoyed at even having to pick up. Her tone was so annoyed. Whenever I'd ask a genuine question she'd huff "ugh ..." and then "Explain". When I would ask other questions or details, she'd huff again. Seriously? I've been on the phone for 30 seconds with the representative? My issue wasn't resolved and she ended the conversation and hung up. Certain information isn't online and I have to call, not because I want to chat. They need to be more helpful and less annoyed. This is unfortunately the experience I've had every single time.

I.R.S. sucks

I am a guy who made under $20,000 last year at an hourly rate paid my fica s.s. and medicaid taxes out of my check every week, supported myself and 2 other people and IRS kept my refund with no explanation.

I'd be willing to bet I'm not the only person this is happened to. It's really sad in this country if you're poor you get screwed even more if you have money you can hire the right attorney and get things taken care of.

They would not keep your refund without explanation. You would have received a letter.

Adjust your withholding at your employer so that there is no amount held from your check. No refund, but no hassle either.

Customer service reps @ phone # 1-80*-829-**** are not trustworthy with info they give out to taxpayers entitled & awaiting thier return

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I call phone # 1-80*-829-****. Of course every time I call I get a different representative. Each individual representative gives me different information pertaining to my amended tax return. The first time I called lady was very very nasty, talked to me as if i was dumb, non educated. She refused to answer a simple yes, no question. She refused to answer a simple yes no question due to the fact 16 weeks had not passed. The worst part of it all the IRS customer service representative decided to place me on hold for over a period of 28 minutes returning back to my phone call but she would not say word, and when I said hello she quick me back on hold in hopes I would hang up. Another time I called I was told by the IRS representative that my amended tax return is scheduled for me to receive it in eight weeks which would have been a week and a half prior to me calling. I never received anything! Another time I called I was told by the IRS customer service representative information pertaining to amended refund which includes mine as well are updated in the systems on Fridays no later than Sunday night. He furthermore explain to me although that is so, he noticed adjustment should have been made for amended refund the past Sunday as I was speaking with him on the Monday, although nothing had been ajusted ir updated although it should have been, as far as he was concerned. Again I reached out to the IRS customer service on May 5th 2017 at 9:58 a.m. the young lady I spoke with immediately seem to be aggravated. I aaked my question on regarding the status of my ammended return, and it seem to me as though i asperated her. The irs customer service representative "Moresio" began to pick an argument with me rather than to answer my quick question. She rhen placed me on hold. Shortly after, the irs customer servuce representative returned to mt phone call, told me my amendment returb may be "choosen" as it sits in "awaiting classification", and due to this which it could take longer than sixteen weeks to recieve. She also stated like she said this can be done, and this is why my amendment can take 16 week. From my knowledge, "classification" can mean several things, such as review, (of course they review it), that's the meaning of being processed. It can also be (which im sure), , placed i to a specific caterogory for its specific amending purpose. In other words a specific team of people deal " specifically"with specific amended tax returns. I thank God for his BLESSING!, for me reciecing my degree in Psychology, but that is not what matters. What matters is, Degree or No Degreet, just the fact of knowing , "No one of us is stupid!" Therefore she told me no more than I already know. The funny thing is the IRS customer service representative repeated and quickly added to her response to me ans said " As I said in the beginning of the conversation it takes 16 weeks in other words." She changed the form of words of my amendment tax return already being processed. I just often wonder, I know for a fact abd can 99.9 %, she was of a"African Amwrican race

This whole story was a pain to read. I cannot follow anything you said because of the poor sentencing.

Probably why you are having poor phone conversations.

I would suggest to write them a letter instead of calling although it prolly wont be helpful. May God have mercy on your soul.

I just wanted pay my tax bill. Online site did not work so, I call the toll free # hoping they could help me pay my bill.

He said he had no control over the web site. Could I talk to someone who can help with the site? No. I asked if I could pay over the phone.

He said they can only set up a payment plan. I asked why couldn't he take my payment then. He got nasty saying " do you think i'm lying! You're getting smart with me!" All I wanted to do was pay my bill.

Who needs to talk to someone like this. I finally told him "I don't need this." and hung up.

IRS, wake up! Make it a little easier here to pay our bills!!!

take your most recent statement from the IRS, go onto IRS.GOV and click payments, bank account, enter your info and you can pay your bill that way. Also options to pay by credit card

annnnnnddddddd.... the site is "experiencing technical difficulties" perpetually.

Honestly, every day since March 1st. I call and try to set up a payment plan, they tell me to wait for my access code in the mail in order to set up a payment plan, annnnnnndddddd.... then there are technical difficulties..... still.

The IRS needs to get with the program. Christ almighty.

My accountant used to work for them. He said they loved messing with people.

Basically it's your word against theirs. You need proof.

If you filed electronically, and can find the confirmation email back in 2012 you have proof. If you used a prepairer and you can get them to sign a statement that they filed the return, that may work.(probably won't because it may become a civil matter and could potentially be found liable to reimburse you) If you sent it by certified mail and have a receipt confirmation, then that may help too

Rude customer support

I called IRS few times and each time I got yelled at and treated like a dirt because I stumbled few questions about my tax return that was made like 6 months ago. These people are so impatient and rude, I can't believe they get away with it. The internet is full of people complaining about IRS, but what has changed? Are they just flat out ignoring us and doing whatever they're doing because they know nothing will happen? Why is there no politician saying anything about IRS reform? We the tax payers pay for their salaries and they really need to drill that in to their thick heads.
