I filed my deceased father's 2016 tax return for a refund last year. On four occasions I have gotten letters asking for additional information and then to wait 45 days.
Here we are getting ready for the 2017 tax year and I still haven't gotten the refund. I find this unacceptable because if the shoes were on the other feet I'd be looking at jail time. There's nothing I can do with out it costing me in lawyer fees if I choose to sue the IRS for grievance. I feel like they have dragged out my fathers death.
All for $1200 dollars. I swear I heard them laughing on the other end.
